How to make my property listing interesting for international market?

The answer is simple: It is all about content. Our choices are based on what we like or do not like, what fits you best, etc.

Let’s see in detail what a seller should focus on:

Property location

It is important to assume that foreigners may not know the name of a district or a neighborhood when they search for a property overseas. In most cases they will search by the city name and look at the map to check the exact location of the property.

Each real estate portal has its own geolocation system that may not index your property in search results if the location level (country-region-city) is not met.

Based on our experience in partnership with multiple real estate portals all over the world, best practice is to have Country — Region — City levels and what’s more important they should be spelled in a proper way, for example:

Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur instead of PROVENCE-ALPES-COTE-D-AZUR.

Spelling may affect the correct mapping of a location and search results, if you want to have your listing searchable in its region, respect the naming.

Some of us living outside France or even Paris may know that Paris is divided in multiple districts (arrondissements) like Paris I, Paris XVII, and you can mention it as additional information, but try to keep the city name clean.

Photos are important: Fine feathers make fine birds.

When we buy clothes, we count on our senses: you can touch it, smell it, but first, you choose it because you like how it looks.

when searching for a property on a website you can use only your vision to select the properties to consider. This is what sellers should use to draw attention to their properties.

Make sure you have high quality photos of the property. Both indoor and outdoor. If it has a beautiful view, take a photo of it on a sunny day. If you have a photo/scan of the property plan, share it, but do not use it as a cover photo. Have a pool? Take a photo of it!

Amenities and additional information.

Be honest with your buyers. Share the additional information they might be interested in. Say if there are any extra charges.

We see a lot of requests asking for additional information, that might have been specified in a free text description or depending on your CRM/MLS, in the extra features section, for example: if it is pet friendly, proximity to the sea, to public transport.

There is a lot of behind the scenes work happening to adapt the publication of your listings on each property portal due to many factors and conditions each portal may have. With these 3 points being fulfilled you will conquer the global market.
