Spain’s Property Hotspots 2017/2018

The number of foreign buyers in Spain has dramatically increased since 2009, and has stabilized at 13% of total sales nationally, representing a 9 to 10 billion euros market. Yet, what are the most desirable coastal regions and major cities for foreign buyers? Which areas are the property hotspots? At ListGlobally we have analyzed our performance (leads generated for our clients in 2017 and 2018) and compiled some interesting data below.

What Spanish regions concentrate foreign buyers’ attention?

To this particular question, we know what the government data answers: coastal areas mostly, with Alicante, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Balearic Islands, Las Palmas, Malaga, Girona, Murcia, Almeria, Castellon, Tarragona, Valencia, Lleida, Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Zaragoza, Navarra, Toledo, and Cadiz leading the way in terms of percentage of foreign sales (see here). But what does ListGlobally’s data say? In 2017 and 2018, where did leads (contact emails) go to ?

Percentage of the overall performance, by Spanish region

As you can see below, Canarias (22%), Comunidad Valencia (23%), Cataluña (19%), Andalucía (11%), Madrid (11%) and Islas Baleares (8%) have concentrated most of the leads generated by the ListGlobally network in 2017 and 2018. What cities have been the most performant you might ask? Below you’ll find a ranking of the Top 15 Spanish cities having captured most of this performance, most of the leads from international buyers.

Looking at the data below, you can see that Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante and Gran Canaria have led the way in terms of performance. With no surprise, Torrevieja, Blanes, Marbella, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia Capital, Benidorm, Altea, Lloret de Mar and Dénia have also performed well and make it in this top 15, which is the result of a data analysis based on leads generated on the ListGlobally network in 2017 and 2018 (first 4 months).
