In the Ski Property Report 2017 published by Knight Frank Switzerland (Naef Prestige), figures are published about Chamonix, Courchevel, Megève, Méribel, Val d’Isère, Crans Montana, St Moritz, Verbier, Villars and Andermatt.
Which nationalities of foreign buyers are most represented per ski resort ?
Quite clearly, the top 3 spots are mostly occupied by the Swiss, the French and the British buyers, except in St Moritz and Andermatt where the German buyers take the 2nd position. Belgian buyers, although rarely in the top 3, are quite present in Courchevel, Méribel, Val d’Isère, Crans Montana, Verbier and Villars.
Alpine Ski Resorts both in France and Switzerland clearly keep luring in international buyers. Even more interesting in that report, a map shows some key figures such as the resorts height ( to maximise snow reliability throughout the season), the typical prime place price per square meter, the drive time to nearest airport, or the total skiing area as you can see below (click here for the full report for better visibility).
